What You Will Need

  • 1/2 teaspoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond oil

Process
Apply a few drops of almond around the area with dark circles, and gently massage into the area. Leave it in the skin till the next morning and wash off with cold water. Repeat this process every night for at least a week, and you will notice visible changes in the appearance of your dark circles. Make sure that you are using sweet almond oil specifically, and not bitter almond oil because bitter almond oil is used for aromatherapy and not skin care.

Rose Water and Sweet Almonds

What You Will Need

  • A few drops of sweet almond oil
  • A bowl of rosewater
  • Cotton ball

Process

  • Dip the cotton ball in the rose water and apply it to your eyes.
  • Let it dry naturally.
  • Once the rosewater has dried, apply the almond oil and massage into the affected area for 2-3 minutes.
  • Leave the oil on overnight.

For maximum benefit, repeat this process every day for a week before you go to bed, and you will see visible results. Rose water is effective for skin care because it refreshes and soothes the skin. It also works well to brighten your complexion by stimulating blood circulation. Sweet almond oil works because it contains a lot of vitamins and minerals that work well to nourish and protect the skin.

Cucumber Remedy

When I think of cucumber as a remedy for skin problems, I immediately remember the scene in High School Musical when Sharpay Evans lounges on one of the beach chairs as she barks out orders to the workers around her. The cucumber remedy is perhaps one of the most popular remedies on this list. Cucumber is a great option for healing dark circles under the eyes because of its rich water content.

What You Need
1 fresh cucumber

What You Have To Do

  • Cut the cucumber into thick slices (depending on the size of your eyes) and place them in the refrigerator for about 35 minutes.
  • Take two cucumber slices and place them on the eyes, ensuring they completely cover the affected area.
  •  Leave them on for 10 minutes, and then wash your eyes with cold water.

Repeat this twice a week for about two weeks, and observe your skin during that time.

Why This Works

This remedy is probably one of the most effective because cucumber contains a number of powerful antioxidants like vitexin, orientin, and cucurbitacins, which help treat under eye dark circles.

Lemon juice on the other hand contains powerful antibacterials that protect the skin as well and have also been found to protect against skin conditions such as blackheads and the likes.

If at all you have very sensitive skin, add a teaspoon of rose water to the mixture above before  attempting to use it on the under eye area.

Green Tea Treatment

I cannot say enough good things about green tea! It is simply effective in many ways than one. It doesn’t just take care of weight loss, youthfulness and the immune system, but it is also great for the skin. I personally tried this out and I got amazing results! Read on to discover the power of green goodness.

What You Need
Two bags of green tea

What You Have To Do

  •  Dip the green tea bags in hot water and then refrigerate them for a while (about thirty minutes)
  • Place the cool tea bags over your eyes for about 15 minutes. Then, wash your face.

Repeat this regimen daily until there is a considerable improvement. I would recommend that you try this for at least a month and observe how your skin reacts.

Why This Works

Dark circles are caused when the blood vessels under the eyes are dilated, and I mentioned earlier that there are a variety of reasons as to why the eyes could be dilated. Green tea helps in reducing this as it contains a variety of tannins that have astringent properties. These tannins actively work to constrict these dilated blood vessels and capillaries as well as help to reduce the appearance of dark circles under the eyes. Doing this will help your eyes will feel refreshed and moisturized after.
